Our Story

Daughters of Hawa was created by a fellow Muslim who knows that the journey of faith is beautiful, challenging, and deeply personal. It is meant to be a welcoming hand and a gentle companion for Muslims who are trying to find their way through Islam with sincerity and understanding.

The intention behind this project is simple: to rediscover the true essence of Islam — the clarity and mercy found in the Qur’an and the Sunnah — without the layers of culture, habit, or assumption that sometimes blur that message. Many of us grow up practising Islam in the shape our communities have given it, and while those traditions can hold goodness, they can also distance us from the pure spirit of the faith. Because of this, even lifelong Muslims can sometimes feel unsure of what Islam truly teaches at its core.

Through my own journey, I realised how often Islam becomes mixed with cultural expectations and personal interpretations. The beauty of our faith can feel hidden beneath those layers. Daughters of Hawa hopes to gently peel them back to return to something simpler and more honest: Islam as it was meant to be lived, with knowledge, compassion, and sincerity.

This is not just for those who are new to the faith, but for every Muslim, regardless of how long they have been practising, who seeks to reconnect with the genuine spirit of Islam. The reality is that even lifelong Muslims can often find themselves practising habits or holding beliefs that don’t align with the core values of our faith. The goal of this mission is to help Muslims understand the purity of Islam and practice it with knowledge, sincerity, and devotion, free from the influences of culture or personal assumptions.

The revert guide is a special tool, specifically for reverts, to help them at the start of their journeys. I have had the privilege of being born into a Muslim family, so a lot of the fundamental concepts of practising Islam weren’t new to me after I reverted back. I left Islam for a period of time due to my own personal circumstances and experiences, and my journey back was largely centred around the philosophical aspects of Islam and establishing true faith.

However, after my journey back, I had the privilege of speaking to other reverts and getting to know their stories and while we had so many similarities on our journey back to the truth when it came to our hearts and our stories, it also made me realise how difficult it can be for reverts that have had no prior exposure to Islam to keep up with all the different aspects of faith. While I did my best to answer all their questions and give them as much clarity as I could on things I did have knowledge of, I had the idea of creating something much more solid and comprehensive, to not only save time but to also make sure that the information I was giving was consistent, detailed, helpful and most importantly, represented Islam in it’s truest form.

That is why the Revert Guide was created — as a steady, organised resource to support those first steps.

There are many wonderful resources available, but I hope this project can be one more lantern along the path, especially for those who feel lost, unsure, or simply in need of a kind starting point.

My identity is not what matters. I am only trying, to the best of my ability, to act in accordance with Allah’s will and to share what I have learned with honesty and humility.

Islam is perfect, and I am not. I try to be careful and thoughtful in my research and in the way I present it, but I know I may still make mistakes. If you ever notice anything incorrect, please reach out so I can learn and correct it. I also welcome any suggestions for topics you would like to see covered. This work is done with love, and I am grateful for anyone who walks this journey with me.
